The First MOLAS Scholarship Recipient, Turning Opportunity into Impact

In 2023, Dani not only became the first recipient of the MOLAS Scholarship, she also became the first person in her family to attend college.
Dani moved from Colombia to Colorado four years ago, where she graduated from Durango High School. The MOLAS Scholarship allowed her to enroll at her first choice college, Colorado State University. Now in her third year studying social work, Dani is driven by a desire to give back to victims of domestic abuse.
The MOLAS Scholarship covers up to 85% of in-state tuition and room and board, making higher education possible for students who might otherwise not have the opportunity. For Dani, this support means more than just financial help — it’s a bridge to a future where she can serve others. Her journey is proof that with opportunity, determination, and community support, first-generation students can turn dreams into lasting impact.
