April 11, 2022 – Durango, CO – The application period is now open for nonprofit beneficiaries for the Community Foundation serving Southwest Colorado’s popular summer concert series at the Rochester Hotel. The deadline to apply is April 29, 2022.
The Community Concerts will benefit La Plata County nonprofits and promote Southwest Colorado’s local music scene by featuring a different nonprofit and music talent on Wednesday evenings July 13 through August 17, 5 – 7 PM in the Rochester’s Secret Garden. This year’s grantees will be selected from La Plata County nonprofits with a mission serving the environment.
The cover charge to attend is a $10 donation to support the six nonprofits selected. At the end of the series, all proceeds will be pooled and distributed equally to the six featured organizations. In 2021, each participating nonprofit earned $1,800 from the concert series.
Click here to apply, organizations must serve La Plata County’s environment sector. In addition, organizations must be a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization or be a project or organization under the fiscal agency of a 501(c)(3) organization.
The bands scheduled to play are:
- July 13 – Nuages du Desert Jazz & Swing
- July 20 – Kirk James Blues Band
- July 27 – Six Dollar String Band
- August 3 – The Lisa Blue Trio
- August 10 – Jeff Solon Jazz
- August 17 – The Badly Bent
In addition to the Rochester Hotel, the Community Concerts are sponsored by Four Corners Community Bank and Tito’s Handmade Vodka.
