Making a Difference Speaker Series is pleased to announce Elizabeth Smart on October 8, 2024.
In her inspirational speech, Elizabeth tells her personal story and discusses the important process of recovery and not allowing your past to dictate your life’s future. Her presentation will touch upon child advocacy, victim assistance and recovery.
Elizabeth Smart was abducted at age 14 from her bedroom while her family slept in the house and she was held prisoner for nine grueling months. Surviving, and now thriving as an advocate, Elizabeth shows us that it is possible not only to overcome extreme adversity and take control of your future, but also to light the way for others.
The Community Foundation will host two events in Durango and Pagosa Springs:
