Bringing Funder Connections to All Regional Libraries April 17
On April 17, every nonprofit in Southwest Colorado can stop by their local library to connect with one of the original grant makers in the state, as well as learn to use the Colorado Grants Guide for free.
In partnership with the Community Resource Center, the Community Foundation is bringing CRC’s monthly Funder Connection Series to nine regional libraries in Southwest Colorado. The virtual statewide event will feature the El Pomar Foundation, one of Colorado’s first foundations founded in 1937.
The participating libraries include: Pine River Library in Bayfield, Cortez Public Library, Dolores County Library in Dove Creek, Dolores Public Library, Durango Public Library, Ignacio Community Library, Mancos Public Library, Ruby Sisson Memorial Library in Pagosa Springs, and the Silverton Public Library.
“We’re pleased to be a part of this regional event to bring nonprofits together to learn about funding opportunities through the Funder Connections Series as well as the Colorado Grants Guide,” said Joanna Lee, Programming Librarian of Pine River Library.
From 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., El Pomar will engage with nonprofits to share advice and tips for successful grant applications. At 12:15 p.m., El Pomar will then host an exclusive after party just for Southwest Colorado, where nonprofits can connect and ask questions that are more specific to their communities.
“Additionally, many Colorado public libraries have a subscription to the Colorado Grants Guide, Colorado’s leading online tool for grant funding research,” said Marcy Mitchell, Colorado Grant Guide Manager at CRC. “This comprehensive resource guide contains more than 1,000 funders and grant profiles of local foundations and trusts, corporations, national funders, and government agencies that support Colorado nonprofit organizations. As CGG subscribers, libraries offer free access and support to access the database.”
Nonprofits across the region are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to strengthen their development efforts, build relationships with funders, and explore the Colorado Grants Guide.
