Email is still the number one way to earn online donations. And yet, for most nonprofits, writing those December emails tends to happen in a rush. So let’s just get it done, together! You’ll come ready to write, and leave with three donor emails drafted, peer reviewed, and ready to schedule for December.

What We’re Working On

The three emails you’ll draft are the ones that matter most at year-end:

  • Giving Tuesday — A timely, compelling ask tied to one of the biggest online giving days of the year.
  • Colorado Gives Day (December 8) — Ride the wave of an already targeted regional push, written for the donors who know and love what you do locally.
  • Gratitude & End-of-Year Reflection — A closing note that thanks your donors and reflects on the year, and what’s to come.

How We’re Working On It

Each email you write comes with a session for peer reviews from your fellow nonprofit colleagues, followed by editing sessions. We’ll be working inside a shared Google Drive, with the option to use templates to help you get started and provide some structure.

By the end of the workshop, these emails should be in great shape (if not final drafts) that are ready to drop into your email platform and schedule for your donor list.

This is part of the Year-End Ask Series, a four-month initiative from the Community Foundation to help Southwest Colorado nonprofits build their strongest year-end fundraising campaign. For more workshop opportunities, visit the Year-End Ask page.
