The Events Manageris integral in planning the Foundation’s events, which include Durango Wine Experience, Making a Difference Speaker Series, professional development workshops and other meetings. This position reports to the Executive Director and other staff in charting the direction of the Foundation’s events and ensuring its effective operation.

 

Job Responsibilities

· Integral in planning the Foundation’s events, which include Durango Wine Experience, Making a Difference Speaker Series, and other workshops and meetings

· Update DWE website, tickets regularly

· Social media for partner recognition as well as to promote the event

· Manage DWE Vendor communications and relationships

· Coordinates DWE/MAD media relations and ensures regular contact with target media

· Assists in developing event budgets and monitors progress and assures adherence

· Volunteer coordination

· Ensures articulation of Foundation’s mission and values

· Participates in training and professional development

· Undertakes special projects as assigned

Desired Competencies and Skills

· Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow through; ability to manage multiple projects at once

· Ability to work collaboratively and establish and maintain effective working relationships

· Experience writing press releases and communicating with the media

· Strong creative, strategic, analytical, and organizational skills

· Strong oral and written communications skills

· Sound judgment with regards to budget and program issues

· Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite, WordPress, Canva, Survey Monkey, Mail Chimp and social media

 

Compensation

· This position is parttime – 15 to 20 hours/ week. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.

· Benefits include: 45 hours paid time off (includes sick and vacation), Matching Simple IRA, your birthday off
