Thank you SWCO donors!
This Colorado Gives Day was a testament to the generosity and heart of the residents of Southwest Colorado. The Community Foundation serving Southwest Colorado spearheads regional participation in Colorado Gives Day — an easy, online initiative for donors to show support for nonprofits across the state. This year’s event, held on December 5th, had another record-breaking turnout.
In all, Colorado donors raised over $54.2 million, and Southwest Colorado nonprofits will receive approximately $675,000 once the statewide Incentive Funds are distributed. This year’s collaborative marketing efforts prompted 3,442 individual donations in our region alone.
“Colorado Gives Day is a wonderful opportunity for individuals to sustain the causes that matter most to them,” says Tracy Pope, Deputy Director of the Community Foundation serving Southwest Colorado. “It is an honor getting to be part of a movement that brings the community together in support of our amazing, local nonprofits. Southwest Colorado continues to show up, and we feel so much gratitude for everyone who donated this year.”
The Community Foundation strives to power philanthropy and encourage people to give where they live. Online donations may still be made at swcogives.org, as this is a year-round electronic giving platform to benefit local nonprofits.
“As the year draws to a close, please know that we value your continued partnership in making SW Colorado such a great place to live, work, and play,” says Briggen Wrinkle, Executive Director of the Community Foundation Serving Southwest Colorado.
