25 Stories: A Champion for Community – Jan Johnson’s Decade of Dedication to Archuleta County

For the past decade, Jan Johnson has been a driving force in expanding the Community Foundation’s resources for nonprofits in Archuleta County. Jan was at the forefront of creating the Archuleta Committee in 2016, a key initiative of the Community Foundation that strengthens local nonprofits and fosters collaboration through the 19th Hole Concerts.

The 19th Hole Concerts celebrates its 10th Anniversary this June, a testament to the dedication of those who believe in lifting up their community and giving nonprofits center stage. Thanks to Jan’s leadership, this summer concert series has helped raise additional funds for local nonprofits while giving them an exclusive opportunity to share their mission with Pagosa audiences. More than just an event, it has helped organizations gain experience in fundraising, ensuring they continue to grow and thrive.

Beyond her work with the committee, Jan and her husband George have built a legacy of service in Pagosa Springs through their work as mortgage lenders and active members of Grace Church. Jan’s unwavering support of the Community Foundation has helped deepen its impact in Archuleta County, ensuring that nonprofits receive the resources they need—now and for years to come.

Her vision, dedication, and heart for her community have left an indelible mark, one that will continue to inspire future generations.
